We are currently collaborating with Editorial Blurr to implement a blockchain-based system that protects and certifies their books—both in digital and physical formats. The goal of the project is to strengthen intellectual property protection, fight piracy, and provide readers and distributors with verifiable authenticity.
The project has two main components:
1. Intellectual Property Rights Management
Every manuscript and creative work published by Editorial Blurr is will be registered on the Solana blockchain, using the SAHEL token to certify authorship at the moment of creation. This ensures that each book has an immutable, time-stamped proof of originality. In addition, we will be developing smart contracts that will automate royalty distribution in SAHEL, so that authors, translators, and illustrators receive payments transparently and without delays.
2. Digital Document Certification
All new editions—whether eBooks, PDFs, or printed copies—will be certified on-chain. A cryptographic hash of each file or print batch is recorded, and a QR code will be embedded in the publication. Readers, libraries, and distributors can scan this QR code to instantly verify the book’s authenticity against the blockchain record. This not only helps fight piracy but also adds value to limited editions, which can be verified as originals at any time.
Current Stage
The system is being piloted with a selection of Editorial Blurr’s latest releases. Authors will be receiving blockchain-backed certificates of authorship, and the first digitally certified editions will soon be tested with readers who can scan QR codes to verify authenticity. The next phase will expand certification to the full catalog and launch the SAHEL-powered royalty payment system.
Through this project, Editorial Blurr will become one of the first publishing houses to adopt blockchain technology for IP protection and document certification, setting a precedent for innovation in the publishing industry.
